About the Conversation

Building an enterprise is one achievement. Preparing it to outlast its founder is another.

Preparing a business to remain strong as leadership, ownership and responsibilities evolve across generations asks a different set of questions altogether.

Beyond the Founder brings together founders, next-generation family members and experienced professionals for an open conversation on the decisions, relationships and structures that shape the continuity of family enterprises.

Rather than offering one formula for every family, the discussion will bring different perspectives and lived experiences into the room. It will help participants identify the questions that matter for their own family and enterprise.

This is the first edition of Beyond the Founder, a Rotary International District 3191 initiative led by the Rotary Clubs of Bangalore Southwest and Bangalore Southparade, in association with FKCCI. It is deliberately a small room, kept open and participative.

On the table

Questions We Will Explore

When should responsibility begin moving beyond the founder?
How should leadership, ownership and family expectations be separated?
What makes the next generation genuinely ready to take greater responsibility?
What have enduring family enterprises done differently while navigating generational change?

Who Is This Conversation For?

The programme is particularly relevant for:

  • Founders & Promoters
  • Next-Generation Family Members
  • Senior Professionals working closely with promoter-led businesses
  • Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders

Seats are limited and registration closes once capacity is reached.

What Should You Take Away?

You may not leave with every answer.

But you should leave with greater clarity about what your family or enterprise should discuss before circumstances make the discussion urgent.

The conversation is designed to help participants:

  • Recognise an assumption that may need verification
  • Identify one important conversation worth initiating
  • Identify one continuity issue deserving further action

A useful next step — not just an interesting discussion

Participants will receive My Continuity Check, a personal reflection card to help identify one issue worth addressing, one conversation to initiate and one practical next step.

The card is yours to keep. It need not be submitted.
